Ontario Massage Therapy Regulations

Did you know…
Massage therapy as a practice has been regulated in Ontario since 1991, under the Regulated Health Professions Act.  Only practitioners who have completed the mandatory training program and have passed the comprehensive competency requirements of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) can label themselves as a “Massage Therapist” or a “Registered Massage Therapist”.

Whether you are seeking massage therapy at Ottawa’s Carling Chiropractic and Sports Injury Clinic or anywhere else in Ontario, be sure to ask if the practitioner carries the title and feel free to ask to review their registration with the CMTO.  When in doubt, use the LOOK BEFORE YOU BOOK tool.
